Dr. Berger obtained her veterinary degree and completed her doctoral thesis in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1998 she moved to California to work at UC Davis, where she held multiple positions within the department of medicine and epidemiology.

Dr. Jeannine Berger is a strategic leader and one of the few veterinarians that is double boarded with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists as well as the American College for Animal Welfare. She has over 30 years of proven experience in animal welfare with a track record of simultaneously improving animal wellbeing and operational efficiency. She has a passion for behavior medicine and welfare with success in public speaking, research, and leadership. In 2019 she was awarded the Bronze Medal for Global Animal Welfare by the World Veterinary Association for her excellent contributions to promoting the welfare of animals.
