Dr. Krystal Dickinson was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. A lover of travel and new experiences, she ventured off to earn her undergraduate degree at Cornell University in upstate New York. She then decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian, and moved to the midwest to obtain her DVM at the University of Missouri. After graduation in 2015, Dr. Dickinson headed straight west and practiced small animal medicine in the golden state of California for close to 5 years. Almost 17 years since first leaving home, she is now overjoyed to finally be back in Texas and pursuing a new adventure as a veterinary consultant for Chewy.
Dr. Dickinson has always had a passion for the health and well-being of cats, and focused both her research and externship experience in feline medicine during veterinary school. She is also a strong advocate for oral healthcare in cats, and has taken several continuing education courses in dentistry as a veterinarian. She has always strived to make appointments as stress-free and comfortable as possible for her feline patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Dickinson explores all that Texas has to offer with her husband. Together they have three rescue pets—a quirky Pug-mix named Jack, the sweetest, old Basset Hound named Roo and a spunky kitty named Baby Cat who of course thinks she rules over them all. Dr. Dickinson is expecting her first child in November 2022.
